Bio

James O’Dell is an experienced leader with over two decades in the motor vehicle aftermarket, bringing a unique blend of industry expertise and educational leadership to his role. Prior to joining Northwood University, he held key positions with independent distributors, developing a deep understanding of the aftermarket landscape.
His commitment to the industry extends beyond his professional roles. He served on the Auto Care Association Marketing & Communications committee, contributing to industry-wide initiatives and earning their prestigious Impact Award in 2018. This recognition underscores his significant contributions and influence within the automotive aftermarket.
Currently, as the Director of Corporate Education | University of the Aftermarket at Northwood University, James leverages his extensive industry knowledge to elevate aftermarket professionals. He is responsible for leading professional development classes and has taught undergraduate classes, ensuring students receive relevant and practical education that inspires their human potential. He also plays a pivotal role in directing the University of the Aftermarket as well as Northwood University’s Center for Automotive and Mobility Studies (CAMS). His responsibilities include instructing courses, developing new programming, serving with industry associations, and maintaining strong industry partnerships to maximize the success of continuing, executive, graduate, and undergraduate education.
James’s combined experience in education, industry leadership, business development, and marketing positions him as a valuable asset in fostering growth and innovation within the automotive aftermarket.
