Bridging Silos: Data Flow From Factory To Field
This session will explore how OEMs, suppliers, and fleets are co-developing shared data ecosystems to eliminate blind spots and reduce friction across the vehicle lifecycle. Explore how the integration of service data, warranty signals, and part failure trends is improving diagnostics, design feedback, and customer experience.
Bio
John has been a pioneering leader in the connected vehicle space since its inception, with executive roles at GM/OnStar, Ford and now as an independent advisor focusing on leveraging connected vehicle data for a variety of OEM, commercial, and consumer facing value streams. He is a passionate believer in how connected vehicle data can be merged with other quality, service, and manufacturing information to allow OEMs and fleet managers to find and fix field issues much sooner and more efficiently than ever before. John pioneered and championed GM’s initial application of connected data to quality and warranty improvement efforts in the mid 2000’s with demonstrated results of 10-15% reduction of overall warranty costs. His broad and deep knowledge and years of practical real world application experience has helped others to value more quickly by applying lessons learned, streamlining data collection, and helping existing organizations transform to embrace a connected paradigm/mindset. His vision for the future is a world where agents in the vehicle and in the cloud work together with OTA update capabilities to create self-diagnosing and self-healing machines.
