A diverse range of plans and comprehensive coverage options indicate a provider’s ability to meet the needs of every household.
Cost (25%)
Affordability is a key factor in selecting a home warranty. This category examines the price range of plans, from the most economical to the most premium, along with service fees and coverage limits. We take into account aggregate coverage limits and service call fees to determine a company’s score.
Lower costs paired with reasonable service fees and generous coverage caps suggest better value for homeowners, and thus are ranked higher.
Service (20%)
Service quality reflects how well a provider supports customers during claims. This includes 24/7 claim availability, emergency service options, workmanship guarantees and average response times.
Home warranty companies that offer quick, reliable repairs demonstrate strong customer care and trust.
Customer satisfaction (20%)
Customer feedback is a critical indicator of trust and reliability. This category aggregates ratings from third-party platforms like Trustpilot, Yelp, Google and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
High scores across these sources suggest consistent positive experiences and a strong reputation.
Reliability (10%)
Reliability measures how consistently a provider honors claims. A high claim acceptance rate and a clean legal record indicate a trustworthy company that stands behind its commitments. This category ensures homeowners can depend on their warranty provider when issues arise.
